Vue panoramique de Corfou – Corphu. Matthäus Merian. Gravure sur cuivre. XVIIe siècle. Dimension du feuillet : 15,8 cm x 37,5 cm. Pli central. Dimension au coup de planche : 14 cm x 35,4 cm. Très jolie vue de l’île Ionienne de Corfou, présentant le port et les châteaux neuf et vieux. Matthäus Mérian (1593-1650) était un célèbre graveur et éditeur de livres et gravures. Il a travaillé à Oppenheim, Strasbourg et Bâle. Il a été l’élève de Théodore de Bry et a formé Wenzel Hollar.
