Remigius Hogenberg
Elisabeth d’Angleterre, de France et d’Irlande par la grâce de Dieu.
Circa 1575.
Gravure sur cuivre.
Dimension au coup de planche: 30,5 x 19,7 cm
Dimension du feuillet: 36,3 x 27 cm
Filigrane à la Dame de jeu d’échec.
Signature dans la plaque: “Remigius Hogenbergius fecit”.
Légers manques dans la marge inférieure gauche et supérieure.
Quelques oxydations et salissures dans les marges.
Grand portrait par Remigius Hogenberg (Malines 1535, Angleterre 1588), frère de Franz Hogenberg.
Un exemplaire de celui-ci est conservé au British Muséum.
Graveur flamand, réfugié en Angleterre vers 1570.
On connait plusieurs portraits réalisés par Hogenberg, mais souvent de petits formats.
