Barère begins by revisiting the attempted assassination of Collot-d’Herbois and Robespierre on Prairial 4: “In the combination of crimes that England bribes in our midst, and that she has carried out by the factions she has enlisted in Paris, it was a question, two days ago, of the assassination of Robespierre and Collot-d’Herbois”. Further on, he enumerates the crimes of the English. The work concludes with a speech by Robespierre delivered at the session of septidi 7 Prairial de l’an deux (May 26, 1794).
