Contemporary full morocco, boards decorated with gilt fleurons and fillets, spine ribbed and decorated with fleurons. First edition of this chronicle published in 1646, the 1645 date on the title page being erroneous. Paweł Piasecki (1578 – 1649) was a Polish prelate and royal secretary to Sigismund III. His chronicle is recognized for the history of Poland in the 17th century, particularly the wars with Moscow. He was critical of the king’s policies and the Jesuits.
