First edition. Pierre-Charles Levesque (Paris, 1736 &#8211; 1812) was Professor of History at the Coll\u00e8ge de France and the Facult\u00e9 des Lettres de Reims. The first volume and the first part of the second volume concern the Orient (including Ptolemaic Egypt) and the Far East, while the other volumes deal with Greece.
